$25,000 HSBC Grant Supports Belmont Homeownership and Financial Education Programs

Belmont Housing Resources for WNY has received a $25,000 grant from HSBC Bank USA, NA's Community Development Department. "HSBC has long been an active and committed supporter of our efforts to encourage economic independence and home ownership," says Belmont President Elizabeth Huckabone, noting that the bank's latest contribution will help fund the organization's U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-sponsored Family Self-Sufficiency and Step Up Section 8 homeownership initiatives as well as its homebuyer and pre-purchase financial education classes.
"HSBC's steadfast generosity enables us to make these much-needed programs available to more low- to moderate-income area residents, whose financial and home ownership options have been especially hard hit by the economy's recent troubles," says Huckabone.
"By stepping up once again to help ensure the continuation of programs that have such a profoundly positive impact on so many Western New York families, HSBC clearly demonstrates its genuine concern for our community's quality of life. They continue to be an invaluable partner in our mission to promote housing opportunity and expand area families' access to quality affordable housing."
In addition to administering FSS, Step Up and a wide range of other housing-related programs on behalf of federal, state and regional agencies and area municipalities, Belmont has provided the community with HUD Section 8 Rental Assistance since 1977.
