ARTSPACE BUFFALO LOFTS
Developer Consultant & Owner’s Rep.
Adaptive Reuse- Mixed-Use/Loft
110,000 sq. ft.
This project involved the adaptive reuse of the historic Buffalo Electric Vehicle Co. Building, turning the daylit factory building into 36 hard loft units with an accompanying art gallery, storefront and common use space as well as the new construction of 24 townhouse-style hard loft buildings at the rear of the property. Belmont was retained by the project Developer, Artspace Projects, Inc., a non-profit affordable housing provider to act as the local Development Consultant and Owner’s Representative throughout the project permitting and construction process. The project was constructed and financed through the use of a combination of state and federal low-income housing tax credits as well as state and federal historic tax credits.
